Le Montrer (1998)

Its a story of a shadow puppet models that begins with displaying four large-sized dolls/puppets from behind a white canvas screen, they are: “Alef ” – Machiavellian, “Jeem ” – a porter, who is humble and sufficient with what life has given him, “Noon” – A humpback woman, “Zain”, the young savvy guy who is updated with all what’s new. All of these characters play their role as planned from behind the shadow (screen) , but at some point, they forget who they really are, and turn into real humans. And “Alef ” – Machiavellian attempts a coup against the shower and eventually it fails, so these characters return behind the white curtain and disappear for good. Written by: Andre Chedid
