A new professional experience in the field of theater for people with psychological, physical and visual disabilities, with a brave initiative from the administration of Al-Khayal Theater, where the theater director and dramaturg Fouad Awad prepared and dramatized the character of lawyer Abbas Abbas and his self-determination in overcoming psychological and physical obstacles that society places with his blindness
The play “Night blindness at Ben Gurion Airport” is about the investigation of a blind man who cannot see at night, as airport security stops him before he boards and gets to his plane and while he waits, repercussions and a “flashback” come from childhood, which is a clear image of the displacement of his family. From Al Mujaidil Palestinian village in 1948 to the city of Nazareth, it is a dark-night journey facing bullying in school and society in all stages of his life, all the way to airport security.
A new experience at this level of dramatic drafting as well as at the level of presentation and theatrical performance of a blind person (not an actor) who moves on the stage with high professionalism.
