The Bus (2003)

A meeting between a Palestinian youth from the West Bank and a girl from the north on a bus that departs from the central station in Tel Aviv on its way to the city of Nazareth, and it happens that inside the bus a bag deemed suspicious. Whose bag is it? And what’s in it?! nobody knows !! Tension, anxiety, doubt and fear soon ensue on the bus. The reality of the bus is intertwined with realistic images from the life of Mukhtar – the young man from the West Bank – which put him in a state of doubt, between being a martyr and being an ordinary person, looking for himself and a job for him in Umm al-Fahm. In such a reality, where the past weighs heavily on the progress of the bus, reality becomes full of doubts and persecution. Doubt triumphs over logic, and common sense is replaced by deeply buried instincts that spring from deep within.
